I’m sure you’ve heard me mention my hand surgeon, Tom Stackhouse, more than once in this column.

He has eased my pain and discomfort by performing carpal tunnel syndrome surgery on my right hand and a similar release operation on my left elbow.

He’s also the guy I query when I have some hand/arm problem I think might be connected to my guitar playing, since he plays himself. In fact, he once had me schlep my Martin D-35 all the way to one of his offices in Marlton so he, ostensibly, could observe how I use my arms and hands when I play. Ha! He just wanted to see the guitar and give it a short test drive.

Tom has, on occasion, graced me by sitting in with me. Those times must have been stressful for him, because I play songs he mostly didn’t know and I know, from sidemen and sidewomen who have done so, I am hard to follow, musically. It’s not that my material is so advanced and complicated. It’s just that I don’t follow the usual rules of music, apparently.

GLASSBORO — A 20-year-old Glassboro man was arrested Monday on child pornography charges.

The arrest was the results of several weeks of investigation by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office High-Tech Crimes Unit, authorities said.

Evan J. Texidor, a truck driver in Philadelphia, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, one for distribution of child pornography and the other for possession of child pornography, said authorities.

WEST DEPTFORD TWP.

— Corinne F. Mollo, 72, of Deptford, was charged Jan. 16 with shoplifting from the ShopRite store on Route 45. She was served with a complaint summons and released.

— On Jan. 16, Elias M. Morris IV, 27, of Swedesboro, was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, served with a summons and released.

— Ryan P. Flaherty, 21, of West Deptford, was charged on Crown Point Road with possession of marijuana. He was served with a complaint summons and released.

— Brian C. Peele, 28, of West Deptford, was charged Jan. 18 on Cleveland Avenue with outstanding warrants and hindering his own apprehension. He was served with a summons and released.

WEST DEPTFORD TWP. — On Jan. 12, someone broke out windows of two vehicles on Grandview Avenue and stole two women’s purses.

On Jan. 16, this woman used one of the stolen driver’s licenses to pass a bad check on one of the victim’s accounts, police said.

LOGAN TWP. — Holdbrook Pediatric Dental LLC will provide free preventive and restorative dental care and, if necessary, make referrals for continuing treatment for children 12 and under as part of National Children’s Dental Health Month.

The one-day program, called Give Kids a Smile, will take place on Friday, Feb. 6. It’s part of the American Dental Association’s annual push to bring attention to the number-one childhood disease, tooth decay.

Children who visit Dr. Wendell Holdbrook’s office that day will receive a comprehensive dental exam, oral health care instruction, fluoride treatments and free dental hygiene materials, including toothbrushes, floss and toothpaste.

GLASSBORO — A man caught running from a house he allegedly broke into and the driver of an alleged getaway car were arrested in Glassboro Friday afternoon.

Police were notified at 1:36 p.m. that a man had kicked in the side door of a residence on Azure Lane, then entered the house.

Officers arrived and set up a perimeter and, as officers entered the side door, Michael Germer, of Sewell, fled through the front door, said police.

Sgt. Michael Dowd pursued on foot. Germer tried to get into a vehicle that was parked down the street, with Alyssa Boyle, of Pennsauken, behind the wheel, police said.

WOODBURY — Andrew A. Kramer, 24, of Deptford, pleaded guilty Friday to the Nov, 1, 2013 armed robbery of a 69-year-old Mantua Township woman, acknowledging he threatened her with a pistol and stole property from her.

In return for the guilty plea, Assistant Gloucester County Prosecutor Laurie Cimino will recommend that Kramer be sentenced to 10 years in state prison and serve eight years and six months before being eligible for parole, authorities said.

Sentencing is scheduled for March 20.

Kramer was charged with stealing an engagement ring and a 2008 Buick. Kramer, an acquaintance of the victim’s grandchildren, was arrested three days later and has been in jail in lieu of $150,000 bail since then, said authorities.

On March 20, Kramer with also be sentenced in three cases in which he was charged with operating an unregistered cesspool service that failed to complete wrk in 2011 and 2012, for which two Mantua residents and one East Greenwich resident had paid, authorities said. Kramer is expected to receive three-year sentences on two of those cases and 365 days on the third, all to run concurrent with the armed robbery sentence, said authorities.

WOODBURY — A Gloucester County grad jury, during the week of Jan. 26, indicted eight people in connection with the recovery of two motorcycles and four all-terrain vehicles on Nov. 25 in  Monroe Township.

 Yusef A. Abdullah, 19, of Williamstown; Marquese D. Battle, 24, of Franklinville; Jennifer H. Bock, 23, of Williamstown; Jimmie C. Bock, 23, of Williamstown; Dean M. Brown, 24, of Paulsboro; Robert F. McPeak, 28, of Williamstown; Naja I. Pigatt, 20, of Sewell; and Williams M. Scott, 30, of Williamstown, all were indicted for receiving stolen property on Nov. 25 in Monroe.

The thefts occurred in Washignton, Mantua and East Greenwich townships and Sicklerville, police said. The suspects allegedly used a rental truck to haul the vehicles to a residence in Monroe, said police.

Seven were arrested immediately and the eighth was arrested after the fact.

WASHINGTON TWP. — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a 2002 Chevrolet Venture on the Black Horse Pike/Route 42 near Watson Drive Tuesday night.

The incident occurred at about 10:27 p..m. when the pedestrian stepped off a curb into the travel lane and was hit by the southbound Chevrolet driven by a Williamstown resident,  police said.

The pedestrian, John M. Thurwanger, 34, of Sewell, died at the scene. The driver, Mary K. Brooks, 52, was not injured, police said.

The Black Horse Pike was closed for abut 2.5 hours for a preliminary investigation.
