WOODBURY — Milton E. Miller IV, of Woodbury, was sentenced to five years in a state prison Friday for conspiracy to commit robbery armed with a baseball bat.

Miller pleaded guilty to conspiring for the July 23 robbery in a Woodbury man’s apartment, said authorities.

The five-year sentence requires Miller to serve 85 percent of the prison term before being eligible for parole.

“You would hope he would learn from his mistakes, but, at the age of 40, he has committed his most serious and significant offense,” said Superior Court Judge Kevin T. Smith. The judge said it appeared the robbery and beating was motivated by revenge.

A codefendant in the case, William L. Robinson, 31, of Camden, pleaded guilty to the same offense as Miller on Sept. 18 and received the same five-year sentence.

WEST DEPTFORD TWP. — A Paulsboro man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Nov 24.

At about 6:48 p.m. that day, a man armed with a knife held up the Family Dollar store at 1999 Gateway Boulevard and fled on foot with approximately $275, police said.

Investigator Jeff Pallies determined the robbery was linked to others in Gloucester County. He met with detectives from the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, Deptford, Westville, Woodbury and Paulsboro and suspects were developed, said police.

On Dec. 10, with the assistance of other jurisdictions, Pallies arrested Brian Robinson, 33, and charged him with robbery, conspiracy, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon, police said. Robinson allegedly acknowledged the crime and provided details. He was lodged in the Salem County Jail in default of $400,000 full cash bail, said police.

Robinson was also charged with an armed robbery Monday at the Valero station in Paulsboro, police said.

He was charged with robbery, possession of a weapon, theft and conspiracy, said police.

Additional bail of $250,000 was set for the Paulsboro charges.
