PAULSBORO — Jerome Worthy, 31, of Paulsboro, was arrested Friday, Jan. 9 at a Paulsboro apartment complex on a warrant for failure to appear in court on narcotics charges and a charge of possession of a weapon while committing a drug crime.

A detective with the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Fugitive Investigations Unit and Paulsboro police officers arrested Worthy without incident in a vehicle in the parking area of the Cedar Knoll Apartments, authorities said. Worthy was turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department.

Worthy’s charges stem from an April 3 incident in West Deptford for which he and a co-defendant were arrested, said authorities.

Worthy was scheduled for a status conference on Dec. 8. A bench warrant was issued for him after he failed to show up, authorities said.

GREENWICH TWP. — Four people were arrested following a large fight at Wilson’s Pub in the Gibbstown Shopping Center early Sunday.

Officers arrived at  1:48 a.m. to find several people outside the bar, pushing and shoving, police said.

Officers took one man into custody, then entered the bar, where they found damaged property, including broken glass in the front door and broken liquor bottles on the floor, said police.

There were two people who had facial injuries, police said.

Jeffrey A. Winter, 33, of Woodbury, Jeffrey D. Wehner, 31, of Thorofare, Angelina F. Pacifico, 31, of Gibbstown and Stephen R. McCann, 31, also of Gibbstown, were charged with disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and unnecessary disturbance, said police. They were all served with complaints and released.

Greenwich Township police were assisted by officers from Paulsboro and East Greenwich.

CLAYTON —  A Financial Sector Job Fair will take place at Gloucester County’s Government Services Building in Clayton on Thursday, Jan. 15.  

The NJ Financial Services Talent Network and the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders have
partnered to host this job fair to highlight Financial Services Industry Week that takes place Jan. 12 through Jan. 16.

The event is aimed at connecting employers to job seekers who specialize in banking, accounting, insurance, mortgage origination and debt collection. Attendees should bring resumes, dress accordingly and be prepared to interview.

WOODBURY — This week, kids’ activities will be highlighted at the Woodbury Public Library.

On Wednesday, Jan. 14, the 7:00 Society for grades 6 through 12 will meet at the library, at 7 p.m., to assemble and play Ping Pong Battleship.

At 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, there will be a meeting of the Lego Club for ages 5 and up.

Both events are free and snacks will be provided.

FRANKLIN TWP. — Michael Rodriguez, 25, of the 300 block of Delsea Drive, was arrested Thursday and charged with assaulting his 8-month-old daughter.

The assault resulted in a skull fracture and a retinal hemorrhage, indicated she had been shaken, authorities said.

Rodriquez was taken into custody by Detective Bryn Wilden of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office and Detective Warren Rivell of the Franklin Township police department.

Rodriguez was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, said authorities.

The child, who lived with Rodriguez, his wife, a twin brother and a sister, was hospitalized on Nov. 5 after Rodriguez called 9-1-1 and reported she was having labored breathing, authorities said. The child was in Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del. for more than a month.

The three children have been removed from the home by the state Child Protection and Permanency agency. The injured girl is undergoing rehabilitation.

Rodriguez is being held in default of $100,000 bail.

FRANKLIN TWP. — An investigation by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office finds no criminal act or wrong-doing by the Franklin Township police officer who fatally hit a 10-year-old boy Dec. 28.

Ptl. Nicholas Locilento was one of three township officers responding to a 7 p.m. call for help with an unruly juvenile, authorities said.

Locilento was traveling north on Delsea Drive/Route 47 near Paul and Elmer streets, where the posted speed limit is 50 mph, said authorities.

Investigators determined that three boys, ages 12, 10 and 9, were having a foot race on Elmer Street, headign toward Delsea Drive.

The oldest boy made it safely across Route 47 and yelled back that a car was coming, authorities said.

Matthew McCloskey, 10, ran into the road, turned toward the car and was hit by the patrol car, said authorities. The 9-year-old didn’t cross Route 47.

Locilento hit his brakes but couldn’t avoid hitting the child.

According to calculations made by motor vehicle crash reconstruction officers, Locilento’s cruiser was traveling at about 74 mph.

GREENWICH TWP.  — A Gibbstown man was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and drunk driving Friday.

Officers were called to the crash at 1:23 a.m. at the intersection of Ladner and Swedesboro avenues to find that a vehicle had been crashed into a parked vehicle, police said. The driver had fled in his car.

The driver’s vehicle was found on Sheridan Avenue, but there was no sign of the driver, said police.

Officers were able to identify, locate and arrest Eric A. Mitana, 27, at his residence. He was charged wiith driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and reckless driving, police said. Mitana was processed and released to a relative, said police.

— Richard W. Seiverd Jr., 32, of West Deptford, for risking injury or damage and criminal mischief in West Deptford on July 20.

— Natale Russo, of Egg Harbor City, for theft and burglary in Woolwich Township on June 19.

— Bryant Brown, 43, of Sicklerville, for bad checks in Washington Township on June 11.

— Ronald C. Amey, 47, of Woodbury, for possession of CDS on July 28 in Deptford.

LOGAN TWP.

— Police charged a 27-year-old Logan man on Dec. 23 with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property following a residential burglary in the Logan Woods development. He was processed and released.

— On Dec. 25, a resident in the Vineyards development reported that someone, possibly an acquaintance, had stolen $310 worth of prescription medications the previous night.
