NATIONAL PARK — The Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Gloucester County Certified Gardeners will be hosting the annual Ann Whitall Flower Show on June 14, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. This years’ theme is “Visiting Our National Parks.”

Freeholder Director Robert M. Damminger said that local, non-professional gardeners are invited to participate in the free flower show and ribbons will be awarded. A special award will be given to the “People’s Choice”, and there are both Artistic and Horticultural classes.

A Plein Aire competition sponsored by the Gloucester County Art League will be held during the Flower Show.

Freeholder Frank J. DiMarco said, “The Certified Gardeners are doing a fantastic job at beautifying our county and whether participating or visiting, this free flower show is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.  I encourage our residents to come out and support our volunteer gardeners.”  DiMarco is the Liaison to the Gloucester County Certified Gardeners program.

Registration is the day of the event. No pre-registration is required. Exhibits must be delivered between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. Sunday, June 14. Judging will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 12 noon. Only one 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbon will be awarded in each class/ subdivision. Visitors will vote for Best in Show for Artistic and Horticulture Exhibitions. (Winner announced at 3:00 p.m.)

The events are taking place at the James and Ann Whitall House at the Red Bank Battlefield, 100 Hessian Ave, National Park, NJ.
