LOGAN TWP. —The police department continues to receive reports of telephone scams in which callers say they’re Internal Revenue Service agents and demand money or personal information from residents. These calls are fake. The IRS will not call you.

In other police news:

— UPS Loss Prevention on Feb. 25 reported an internal theft from their warehouse on Birch Creek Road after an employee was found with a ring in his pocket. The worker, a 59-year-old Camden man, was terminated instead of being charged. The $115 ring was recovered and returned to inventory.
— A 29-year-old Penns Grove man was charged Feb. 26 with simple assault following a disturbance at a warehouse in the 300 block of Heron Drive. The man fled after the incident, however, and has not yet been served with the complaint summons.
— A Bridgeport man reported on Feb. 27 that someone tried to force entry into his detached garage. The overhead door was damaged.
— On Feb. 27, officers charged a 51-year-old Woolwich man with DWI and other motor vehicle violations during a vehicle stop on Paulsboro Road. The man was stopped for passing a marked police car in a no passing zone while speeding. He was processed and released.
— A 45-year-old Norristown, Pa. man was arrested March 3 on an outstanding warrant from Delran. He was additionally charged with possession of marijuana, served and released.
— A 29-year-old Penns Grove man was arrested at his work place on Center Square Road March 4 after it was discovered he was wanted for aggravated assault by the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office. He was committed to the Salem County Jail in default of $200,000 full cash bail.
— An 18-year-old Bridgeport man and a 19-year-old Gibbstown ma were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia during a vehicle stop on Center Square Road on March 4. They were processed and released.
— Wheels and tires were stolen overnight March 4 from two trucks parked in the lot of a Heron Drive trucking company. The tractors had been jacked up and left resting on their axles. One of the trucks suffered damage. The total loss was estimated at $9,000.
