WEST DEPTFORD TWP. — The West Deptford Mayor’s Food and Holiday Toy Drive, a partner with Operation Blessing conducted by the West Deptford High  School National Honors Society, has begun.

“Our schools are much more in touch with families’ needs than local municipal government could ever be”, says Mayor Ray Chintall, “This partnership is the essence of what the holiday spirit means, pulling together for the cause of helping our neighbors.”

The township has placed donation containers at the West Deptford Free Public Library, RiverWinds Community Center, the state Department of Motor Vehicles, and the municipal building, and they’ll be there from through Dec. 5.

The drive is collecting non-perishable food, new toys and board games, gift certificates for older children, batteries, ShopRite or ACME gift certificates in $10 increments, mittens, hats, gloves, and sneakers for all ages and sizes.

Financial donations can be made payable to West Deptford High School, with Operation Blessing in the memo line, and sent to West Deptford High School, 1600 Old Crown Point Road, West Deptford, NJ 08093.

Items will be distributed to needy families of West Deptford with discretion and in time for all to have a joyous holiday season.
